104th Annual Prize Day


The 104th Annual Day Celebrations of The Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College, Ketti was celebrated on the 7th of July 2018. The Chief Guest, Mr. Huluwadi G. Ramesh, Justice of the Madras High Court was welcomed by the Members of the Board of Management, Principal, Staff and the students. The Justice was accompanied by the members of the Court of Law and the officials of the Police Department. The programme began with the lighting of the candle by the Chief Guest and a word of prayer by our headmaster Mr. R. A. Nelthropp. The school choir sang the prayer song -Agnes Dei. 

Mrs. Clover Everett introduced the Chief Guest. The traditional dance for the traditional remix of the song ‘Swalla’ entertained the audience. Our Principal, Mr. Gary Everett presented the Annual Report of the academic year 2017-2018. The Laidlaw dancers did a musical play about the peacocks followed by a traditional dance for the song ‘Shape of You’.

The Vice Chairman Mr. Christopher Hawkes gave away the prizes for Classes 1 to 4 while Mr. Norman Wood gave the prizes to the students of Classes 5 to 8. The choir rendered two more songs – ‘This is Me’ and ‘Uptown Funk’. The Laidlaw Rock Band performed ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’.

The Chief Guest gave away the prizes for Classes 9 to 12 and the trophies for the achievers in sports. The staff who had rendered 25 years of service to the institution were also honoured.

The honourable Chief Guest, Mr. Huluwadi G. Ramesh spoke about the greatness and unique history of our country. He also said that the youth of our country have great responsibilities and praised our prestigious institution. His talk was inspiring to the student community of the Laidlaw Family.

The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by the head boy D. S. Sanjay and the head girl K K Vidhyalakshmi.
