Craft competition – Smith House

 Craft Competition

Craft – It is the skill in making or decorating things especially and completely with the hands.

In Laidlaw Smithies are always given a chance to embrace their artistic skills.

The Craft Competition took place on the 27th of June, at Smith Cottage. The theme of this competition was ‘Animal Kingdom’.  Animals! Yes a lot of amazing and exciting craft work  was done by the Smithies. Unbelievable but that is the fact.

The children of Std 1 did Collage – a work of art that was made by pasting different coloured crepe paper on a tortoise’s back. They made sure that the tortoise looked very colourful but not green.

An Artistic Bunny was made by the students of Std 2. Each part of the bunny was shaped and kept aside. The children glued and pasted all the parts correctly and formed the image of a bunny rabbit.

The Std 3 children involved themselves in Hand Printing. On a chart paper, the little palms and fingers made impressions and marks of a caterpillar and a butterfly in the garden.

There’s nothing impossible without giving it a try. Yes, the hidden talents were brought out by the class teachers of Smith Cottage by encouraging the Smithies at all times, continuously supporting and guiding them and involving one and all to take part in  all the competitions.

Good work! Keep rocking Smithies!
