 Pottery Competition

Mr. Mathew, the pottery teacher has trained the Smithies in working with clay. In Laidlaw, pottery class is a new art work for children and that has improved their motor skills and boosted their self-esteem. As clay is easy to handle for small fingers, Smithies enjoy working with it. Over the years, Smithies have learnt to manipulate the clay and have also discovered that their hands are powerful tools.

So, this competition was a great chance and easy going task for the Smithies to prove their skills. The competition which took place on the 1st of July at Smith Cottage had a trend. The trend to work with clay to make a variety of flowers, bouquets and flower vases. Smithies became fascinated by clay and focused on a single masterpiece. The soothing qualities of the medium kept them engaged while their imagination takes over.

Looking at the end result, each child’s clay work was beautifully carved into variety of flowers and was very authentic.

The Principal and the Coordinator were the special guests and were very pleased by the pottery work done by the Smithies. Their appreciation gave confidence and   made the Smithies fly high in the air. Thank you Sir and Ma’am.
