Report on the Orientation Programme

The foundation for good parent teacher relationship is an open communication, mutual respect and a clear understanding.
In pursuit of the same, the staff of The Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College organised an Orientation Programme for the new admissions of the academic year 2022-2023. This programme was conducted to familiarize them with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school and the co-scholastic activities. A half day orientation programme was held on 18th April 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in the Indoor Basketball Stadium.

Mr. Rutherford Nelthropp,Headmaster, began the orientation with an opening prayer.

After welcoming the parents to the new academic session, Mr. Gary Everett, Principal, spoke at length about the benefits of effective communication between parents and teachers; he laid emphasis on a strong connection with the school patrons, he also spoke in detail about different ways of nurturing a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a glorious future.

The parents were briefed about the rules and regulations of the school, daily routine of the students, communication and birthdaysand holidays.

Mr. Rutherford Nelthropp Headmaster, introduced all the teaching staff followed byMr.Shiva Shankar, theBursar, who introduced all the Non-teaching staff, following which the Headmaster came forward and introduced all the cottage staff.

Mr.Nelthroppgave an overview of the various subjects and the activities which would be undertaken in the year ahead, Notto forget the co-scholastic activities, our Cultural Coordinator Mr.Vasu spoke about the culture activities, followed by Mr. Anand Kanagaraj our Sports Coordinator who elaborated on all the sport activities in our school. Later, the respective teachers came forward and briefly explained about the co-curricular activities, Mrs. Shireen Sequeira spoke about Saturday activites, Mr.Rameshintroduced IAYP, Ms. Monica Ruth spoke about MUN, Mr.Cecil Thomas laid out the benefits of being part of the Interact Club and Mrs. Parameswari spoke about Child Rights.

Then we had a question answer session to clarify the doubts of the parents, The orientation programme came to an end with a closing prayer by Mrs. Femina
