The Chairperson’s Message

The World of Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College has changed enormously since the inception of its first batch in 1914. Positive changes and progress have come about in leaps and bounds. The alumni as well as the future generation of students will undoubtly agree that they are fortunate to have lived in environs that are blest with the beauty of nature-the Nilgiris, which are conducive to teaching and learning.

Academics is at the core of our curricular structure with equal importance given to co-curricular activities and sports. Here, I would like to specially mention the ‘Cross Country Race’ that has been a legendary tradition that keeps all the children fit and in high spirits. The students are encouraged to enter a competitive and inter-connected world wherein they would take calculated risks along with positive modification in their behavior as they ascend the ladder of learning, knowledge, and wisdom. The dedicated staff offers new approaches to education that imbibe contemporary learning techniques.

We, at Laidlaw School are committed to inculcating strong, moral and ethical values among its staff and students. The faculty prepares the students to become ‘Self-reliant’ which is the Georgian Motto and spirit, helping them encounter hardships with resilience, becoming responsible and accountable for every act that is committed.

The Board of Management continues to reiterate its stand on excellent education with complete support to our staff and students.

Quality education at an affordable cost is the foundation of what we believe and value.
